A consultation always takes place before surgery. It includes a full description of the treatment and mentions the potential complications as well as answering individual/personal questions.

This type of plastic surgery closely follows the procedures in breast reduction. In simple cases, liposuction is sufficient, in other cases, it has to be combined with excess tissue removal. The surgery is performed under general aenesthesia, it takes 1-2 hours. After the operation, drains (tubes) will always be inserted for 1 day to lead away blood and lymph.
Prior to surgery, ultrasound examination of the breasts is necessary.
As the operation will be done in narcosis the following medical examinations are necessary: EKG, chest X-ray, laboratory test. On the day of surgery, the patient has to stay one night in the hospital.

Between 2-6 days after the operation, the drains will be removed depending on the quantity of discharge. The sutures will be absorbed within a few months and the scars will fade and over 1-2 years they will become almost invisible.
Within 24-48 hours after the operation, the patient can remove the cover dressing and can have a shower.
During the first 3 weeks after the operation, the patient must constantly wear a pressure bandage which can be bought in a medical aids shop with our prescription. Weekday clothes perfectly cover this bandage.

Post-operation, if you have fever, pain, hematoma or any other complaint please contact us immediately.
We’ll inform you about all risks of anaesthesia during your personal consultation. In order to reduce surgical complications we give antibiotic medicine and an injection (LMWH) before every operation to prevent thrombus during anaesthesia.
Very rarely after the surgery, there may be inflammation, postoperative bleeding, or problems with the wound healing. The surgical hospital will address and resolve these problems.
The full or partial lack of sensation on the areola of mammila depends on the rate of prolapse of areola.
Surgical incision scars depend mainly upon patients’ skin and genetic predisposition which makes the scar a normal thin line, or thickened (keloid),or expanded (hypertrophia).
